The work: We practice downshifting under controlled conditions. Your nervous system builds new neural pathways for regulation. This capacity expands over time—you don't "complete" this stage, you deepen it.

SOVEREIGNTY — The Outcome

Authentic agency over your responses. You've reclaimed authority over your own nervous system.

What this means: Clarity without approval-seeking. Boundaries without explanation. The quiet confidence that other people's opinions have nothing to do with you. This is self-determination, not better coping skills.

Important Note: This process isn't linear. As your capacity expands, you'll revisit survival patterns at deeper levels. That's not regression—it's the spiral of integration. This is a process—incremental and slow because the body moves more slowly than the mind.

The Assessment & Optimization Process

Phase 1: Diagnostic Assessment (Session 1)

What happens:

  • Clinical evaluation of your nervous system state

  • Identification of specific dysregulation patterns

  • Assessment of your current autonomic range

  • Baseline measurement of where tension is locked in your system

What Happens After Your Session Series?

At the end of your session series, you'll have established the capacity for independent regulation of the nervous system and a sustainable daily practice. Some clients return periodically for "tune-ups" as life circumstances shift. Others continue their practice independently. The methodology becomes yours—not dependent on ongoing sessions with me.

  • No. This work is self-pay only. I don't bill insurance because this is clinical nervous system optimization, not medical treatment. You may be able to use HSA/FSA funds—check with your provider.

  • Traditional talk therapy works top-down—processing experiences cognitively. This work is bottom-up—restoring your nervous system's regulatory capacity so cognitive insights can actually integrate. Many clients do both simultaneously.

  • This work complements therapy. Many clients find that their therapy becomes more effective once they have foundational nervous system regulation. I'm happy to coordinate with your therapist if helpful.

  • Most interventions treat symptoms downstream of a dysregulated nervous system. This addresses the foundation—why your system can't hold gains from other treatments.

  • Possibly. This work often reduces pharmaceutical dependence where appropriate, but I support integration with necessary medical intervention, not replacement of it.

  • I don't diagnose or treat anxiety or depression. I work with the nervous system dysregulation that often underlies these experiences. Many clients report significant shifts in these symptoms as their regulatory capacity improves.

  • Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are charged in full. Packages are non-refundable but transferable with prior arrangement.

  • Most clients see measurable shifts within 5 sessions. Deeper reorganization typically takes 10+ sessions. This varies based on your history and current capacity.

  • Somatic Experiencing® is a body-based approach to resolving trauma and restoring nervous system regulation, developed by Dr. Peter Levine. It works with sensation and the body's innate capacity to heal, rather than primarily through cognitive processing.

  • Research on Somatic Experiencing ® shows significant reductions in PTSD symptoms, improved heart rate variability, and reduced cortisol levels. I can provide specific citations upon request.
